F. Peacock off of the (supposedly) up-coming album, You Shouldn’t Live Alone.
F. Peacock - Home Or Something Like It [CTR009]
At times, the voice of F. Peacock’s sole member Kayla W. is reminiscent of voices we’ve heard before:
like Jana Hunter, insistent and unfettered by flowery arrangements;
like Megan Remy, driven by an internal rhythm;
occasionally like Liz Harris, swallowed in the depth of her musings;
often like Jesy Fortino, brutal and heartbreaking in her cause.
Home Or Something Like It is about homes, yes—but also roads, bedrooms, dreams, families. A microscope taken to the tiny fractures, so that the blemishes revealed enhance the beauty of the whole.
F. Peacock - “In Her Hypothetical Birth”
F. Peacock’s debut album Home Or Something Like It will be released on CoatTrack Records Tuesday, February 15, 2011, as the 9th digital release for CoatTrack.
Home Or Something Like It finds F. Peacock’s sole member Kayla W. commanding the aesthetic of bedroom recording; leaving all things revealed at their skeletal core. Ten songs about things that are broken.
More to come.
